Wow, wow, wow!
I agree with everyone else -- is there anything you can't do? Sew on a button, maybe, or juggle, or bake cookies?
Maybe we should ask Ina (smile).

What is the approximate price tag for all the wire that went into just one tree? I'd also be interested to hear an estimate for the total amount of labor to produce one tree, including cabbing time.

Thank you again everyone! Amy, no I don't juggle at all. I cannot keep in the air not even three oranges, LOL. Sewing buttons, well, this is much more simple than wrapping and cabbing and such but much less pleasant. 10thumbs, I used an ellectric spool (coil) which I took from the flea market, so no relevant price. Here are the new progresses, I FINISHED THE SECCOND TREE ! A close up: In this last pic you can see the base of the tree which will be the prize in the contest. The other one is a simmilar rock but larger and heavier than this one. Now all I have to do is glue the base of the trees. I think I'll keep the desertic look of that "terrain" adding some sand on the epoxy, not "grass" or such. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Adrian, I knew these were going to look great when they were finished, but they've really far exceeded my expectations...they are SO pretty! I think keeping the desert look is the perfect idea.

Hi again everyone, the trees are ready, both of them! Well, sort of, they are still waiting for some delayed leaves but that's all they need to be totally finished. Here is the whole "forest" The tree that is going to stay: As I told you before, I used sand to hide the epoxy. This sand is from our favorite beach in Lesvos Island - Greece. It's volcanic rock sand. As you see, I added a small petriffied limb that adds to the desertic look I think. Those petriffied limbs (there's one of them on the other tree also) come from Serbia, Zoran and me picked them in our trip in September And now, the tree which is about to be the subject of the contest. Stay tuned, the contest will follow very soon! That's it folks, it was such a pleasure and a challange to work those two trees. Knowing that the leaves come from so many of you gave me energy for doing them. I hope you enjoyed this action at least half as much as I did. Thank you for looking and for all your help and support, Adrian PS. Mark or John, please remove the pin from this thread by now. I think it's OK to go down and make room for the new contests

Adrian! Those are amazing! I've been reading and trying to catch up with everything that I've missed and the saga of the trees has been fascinating! The leaves from every which way - here, there, light green, dark green, small and plump, smaller and skinnier! - such a cool idea! Not only in who provided the leaves, but the differences in the rocks used on the trees - and the creative mind that pulled it all together! You did such an amazing job - whoever wins this will have a treasure and quite a story! Such a cool way to symbolize the group of people making up this board! I can't wait to see how it all plays out! wow - just beautiful. I motion for a standing ovation for Adrian! (ps - if we should ever meet - and so you can add it to the list of all the other things you can do - I'll teach you to juggle! )
