Hello, leaves donors and everyone! I grooved all of the leaves! I also split them into two groups, for each tree. After counting them, there are two more leaves in one group so I'll take one of them and put it into the other group. Anyway, there are some more leaves to come to me (Karen, Rhonda and Sparkles are the ones that I know about). There are some 10 leaves in each group that cannot be grooved - too thin or too small. I will use them too, gluing them on the wires. Here's the first group... ...and some close ups: And here is the second group... ... and the close ups of this group: 'Till now I had to step on solid ground, it's from now on the unknown to come for me. Keep your fingers crossed! I'll keep posting the progresses of the work. Thanks for looking, Adrian

That's a whole lotta groovin' Adrian! ... You bet it is, Brian! And I grooved some 60 of them without that device, thus using the "romantic" method It was a pleasure to groove all of these stones, they really show the diverse personalities of the members here. Adrian

Hi, everyone! Some more wire work done these days! The Limbs are done for both of the trees. Each tree will have 18 limbs. These 18 limbs will form 4 main branches. There will be 4 limbs in each branch, plus a "bald" limb in the tallest branch, plus a limb emerging directly from the trunk, beneath the head of the tree. Here are the wires. Each tree has 94 of them. It was quite a work to remove the lacquer from the wires. My hands still ache. And this is although I had some help in this work I used a battery powered drill press to twist the wires in the limbs. Each limb has 5 or 6 wires. Four leaves will be wrapped on each limb. Here's a limb after being twisted with the electric drill press: And here it is after finishing its end: Now this limb is only waiting for its leaves to be wrapped on, and then to join with other three limbs to form a branch. And four branches to form a tree. Here's the whole group of wires for a tree, before finishing the ends of the limbs... ... and after finishing the ends: That's all for now, thanks for looking and please keep visiting this place, I hope you will be able to see new progresses soon! Adrian

Hi again, I almost finished the first tree! Wrapped the leaves on the limbs: Grouping the limbs in branches: Making the branches: Making the tree: before wrapping the trunk: and here it is with the trunk and the roots wrapped: The long wires are waiting for some leaves that are about to come. After completing them, I will cut the excess of course. It's difficult to take a good pictute to those trees, maybe tomorrow I'll be able to take better pics on sun light. It came out pretty big, bigger than I expected and also it is pretty rich in leaves. I thought the leaves would not be enough but I think that the size of the leaves, bigger than the small tumbled stones which are normally used for the wire trees, was an advantage: they "fill" the space better. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Adrian, this came out GREAT! I agree that these big leaves do really fill out the tree nicely. Have you figured out what you're going to do with the bases yet?

... Have you figured out what you're going to do with the bases yet? Yes Nichole, I selected two local rocks, carbonatic onyx, which are naturally shaped as a slab and the faces look like a natural terrain (desert). I think they will fit for the bases. Just a few more days and you'll see them Here are some more pics of what you already saw above, nothing new but some tries to capture better images of the tree. I think some of you could recognize theirs leaves in those close-ups: Thank you for your kind words and for looking, Adrian
