Anyone heading out here to rock hound next weekend? Might take off Friday and spend some time Friday and Saturday out here, weather dependent of course.

I could probably meet up with you on Saturday...or Friday, depending on what time. There's potential for T-Storms both days, so weather dependent is applicable for me as well.  |

Thanks! We had some really bad storms here last night. I’ll watch the weather this week and if it’s to wet or stormy I’ll not go. I should know for sure by Wednesday and let you know.
If I go I will head there after work on Thursday and be there both Friday and Saturday morning. My goal is to explore the area to the East this time but it has to be dry to do so.

Going to watch the weather closely. Right now it’s a 30%-40% chance of rain from Wednesday thru Friday. If it does rain Thursday and appears it will on Friday I will bail for another time.
Gotta be dry or ya be stuck in the greasy clay trails!

I keep an eye on radar because it's only 15 or so miles from my house, but they get hit when we don't...and I know right where to zoom in on the radar! LOL And you're right...where I'd want to take you is far back in the East buttes...and the roads HAVE to be dry. |

Kind of bummed but used the time to make a mad dash to Central Illinois to see my oldest daughter with a surprise visit. 9 hours each way but totally worth it!
Still get to camp out in the truck in the middle of nowhere Iowa as well so not all bad!
I’ll ping ya for next time!

Looks like me and a buddy will be heading out here in mid October! He bought a new Honda UTV so we will be there three nights to explore the place. I’ll shoot dates once we confirm, you locals can pop out and say hello if you’re free.

Looks like October 15th for three nights and 4 days at RR Buttes it is. If you see a big yellow truck stop by!
My buddy will have his UTV so we will be exploring as much as possible.

Looks like some rain today and tomorrow! Thursday appears dry and we should be out there Friday around noon so hopefully it will be dried up by then and all the agates cleanly washed ! 😂

My buddy is bringing his UTV so we’re hoping it’s not too muddy out there. Quite a few gravel roads to explore on if too muddy.
We won’t get there until Friday a bit after noon. If we have to wait until Saturday to ride no big deal. Not really into mud for sure!
