Cheapagate I love the coral! How do you get it? Some of us collect fossilized coral here in Ga. and Fla. in some of the rivers. Do you get yours out of water of some type or dig it some other way. Keith

The Kingston Agates I collect here in North Ga. have the same rind on them also.

And you had better paint them a bright color or the river takes them away from you!

James would say your hammer is still too big! LOL

When James said SMALL hammer he meant it! I think he is still laughing at me and my idea of a small hammer! I'm glad someone does not have that problem. It is hard to get good size pieces for tumbling with a hammer with out having fractures that show up later, I know I do.

They have rocks there that are not native to the mine. A lot of sluice mines bring in rocks from all over and put in the dirt so every one finds something. Sometimes you can find some nice pieces. But it is not native for the location.

The one in N.C. is salted but it is not the Hogg and I think everyone should know it.
If Lee was referring to the N.C. place he should not have addressed the comments toward me since I was talking about the Hogg.
Lee might have been talking about Smiths but he needs to get his facts strait before he starts making statements that could hurt a mine. Chris is a great guy and does not need things posted that are not true!
I was just defending a nice place to dig and wanted to stop lies being told about it. You do have a right to YOUR opinions but when you start posting things that are not true then it is wrong. Just MY opinion!
Sorry but I will NOT be calm and let people start saying things that are NOT true about any Mine or person. X'O' Kap

Lee they do NOT sell buckets at the Hogg mine! There are NO creeks and NO sluices No school dig piles so it might be a good idea to check things out before you post! You can dig thru the tailings from when it was mined before or go right into the pit and collect. If you went to a mine like you said it was NOT the Hogg Mine in Lagrange Ga.!

Just remember the harder you push and the faster you cut the faster you will wear out the blade. That is why power feeds go slow.
