I loved reading this. Your explanations are super and really describes how to cut a rock with intention to strive for the best work possible. This really explains how obsidian is cut to obtain certain patterns like hearts. Are you going to make a heart out of #16?
I'm going to read this over a few times to try to get the most understanding. Thank you so much for posting this. Jo

So I'm guessin' the rock is buried in a horse pasture? LOL. What a great way to spend your Father's Day. Sounds like Lizee had a great time too and was a big help! Jo

Can you soak that doppy druzy one in nail polish remover for a bit and then scrub with a toothbrush? Or soak in denatured alchohol, should find it in the hardware store.
I really love the Fourth of July Butte. Boy, and that last one is so cool, you matched the pattern so perfectly. I really love seeing your work Ed. Jo

Hey Cathy, I understand totally. I can only offer the possibility of balance existing. A few pieces for you, one for someone else, a few for you, one for someone else... that kind of thing. Or... better just to give them back, LOL.
Your bracelet looks lovely and you did a great job making it work! Jo

Soak your slabs or cabs in Tidee Bowl and they will turn into stuff that looks like turquiose. This is a trick that was common during the turquoise craze many years ago. Bob They're still trying to get away with it in Quartzsite. Jo

Hi Mary, I agree with you both, it is a tough call. I can only help by telling you that I ran a few pieces through my rotary. I got the Septarian in Quartzsite, wasn't great quality... had been thrown away. Don't remember how big it was when it started, but here is a pic of one that ran through my rotary. Jo

What a great hobby! Eight little itty bitty baby turkeys!!! So awesome!! Are you gonna let 'em roam free or try to keep 'em on the property? Are they for eatin' or are they gonna be family?
Congrats to Tom! Jo
