Amazing how small they compost to. When I first started gardening 42 years ago,I would pull a trailer in the woods and shovel the 2- 3 inch thick leaf mold that accumulated over the years. Then, the damn hogs came in and rooted up every square inch, digging up shallow roots and all, couldn't even get a shovel full without hitting roots.Thats when I started making my own. snuffy

Meviva, the material at the estate sale is sold by the bucket. $30 flat. You can fill as many buckets as you want. The larger pieces that don't fit in the buckets can be negotiated, but I usually sell them as two or three buckets depending on material and size. You can just show up between 10 and 5. No need to rsvp. Just show up ready for fun. But please show up soon enough to be done before 5. I have children and need to leave right at 5, or I'm in trouble. I have had to turn people away for showing up at 4:45. $30 a bucket is a good price.I bought many buckets full from a rock man and I think 40-45 lbs was the avg weight. So around 75 cents a pound.Sounds like great hounding to me! snuffy
