Thanks. What's a sulfide marble? The ones in the pics? They were made with figures inside.I've only seen one in person,an elderly lady had it,it was her fathers. ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/Garden/IMG_1418_zpsf54dd86d.jpg) snuffy

Where'd you auction them? I have probably 500 or 600 old marbles from the 40's including a few old old clay marbles that were my grand uncles that I'd like to convert to cash at those kind of auction prices.... Thanks! Phil, years back there was an antique auction in a town near me,every Tuesday night.Dealers and individuals. They are gone now.Think I went 32 weeks in a row, afraid I would miss something.Find out if there are any antique auctions in your area.Take a few to gauge interest.Good luck! Get a good marble book with lots of pics to see if you have any real valuable ones.If ya got any sulfide marbles, great! ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/P10100832_zpsb50a4ad9.jpg) ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/P10100862_zpsfe50254c.jpg) snuffy

I take it you collect old canning jars too. I have a few with the wire bail and glass top. Got a bunch of marbles stashed too. My mother saved my old marbles from the 40's & 50's. Don,I always said I collected everything but dollars. Finally figured out you just cant collect everything.A shed packed,a pickers dream! What I didn't keep was my large collection of baseball cards in the mid '50s.Passed around several cousins, then burned by ones father, just junk he said. I guess if everybody kept them, wouldnt be worth much! snuffy

As a kid in the 1940s, i played marbles. It was fun. Used to play jacks , too. I wasn't so good at marbles, but i was a whiz at jacks. That 's a good looking collection. Good thing you still have all yours! ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png) Sometimes I wonder if I still have all mine,Pat! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) snuffy

Snuffy, my father's old marbles from the 20s/30s brought $3k at auction about 11 years ago...I was flabbergasted. Some are worth a lot of money.I bought these at an antique auction.About 90% of the marbles produced back in the years aren't identified by which company made them, according to my books. But the early ones that are can be valuable. snuffy

Since these are glass, thought it would be suitable to put these on here.Another of many things I've collected and hoarded over the years.Somebody on here asked if I ever wanted to sell some to let them know, but cant remember who.I have a pint of these for sale,154 marbles total From all the marble books and research, these are probably from the 1930's to 1940's.So many companies made them back then, but that gets into a long story. $25 shipped,us,paypal The pint jar is on the left, doesn't go with them. ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/IMG_1415_zpsa81a5851.jpg) I have some dispayed in antique canning jars ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/IMG_1417_zps3920bf6f.jpg) Some beautiful glass in these ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/IMG_1417-crop_zpsaeccb488.jpg) snuffy

Very nice! Is that Texas material? We get some waterline agate here, but I have not seen one bordered by the banded portion like that. Looks like a limb cast to me too. No idea where its from.Something in boxes I bought or from the rockman I bought from. snuffy

I'd recommend looking through the tumbling photos.Just about most of the stones, can give you an idea of what you want.

After filtering the oil,I sink my bags of muck in a large rubber trash barrel containing water.Oil will continue to seep and can be skimmed off. Got 6 or 7 gallons this way over the last couple years.
