Does anyone have any plain flint. This is not for lapidary purposes. A member of our church is putting together these learning kits for our youth program. He needs some flint for a fire starting kit. If anyone has some please let me know. I imagine a few pounds would be plenty.
Thank you, Christopher

Sorry it took so long to get back to you rockjunquie. I have been really busy lately. So I do not see a problem with cutting the cabs for you. All that matters is how soon you might need them. I have to leave here in a day or so. I will be gone most of the week. So if you can wait till next week then I could cut them for you. Let me know

larimar can be difficult to work. I have always found that if I was easy on the metal bond wheels I usually was okay after that. Thanks for the endorsement Lee. I think we have a few slabs up on Facebook. If not we have more

Here is a little of the Llanite I collected while passing through Llano, Texas. This stuff is HARD!!! Not an easy task to break these chunks off!!! A little close-up Thanks for looking, Christopher

I did not worry too much about it breaking. The dark areas are really a deep green color that was hard to capture in the photo. I have not have any sort of problems polishing this material. I cut this using the standard Diamond Pacific set up on my Genie. Then I polished using 14k super polish, a light Zam buffing finishing with a hard buff on clean cotton

Are these photos of the New wheel or the used ones? It looks like there is rust and wear on the wheel in the photos

I agree with Good Earth. The 50 post rule gives us a chance to know a little about the person. Gives them time to settle in and meet some of us.
