I like the fact that one can look through the post and find information on different materials. I also like showing and sharing the photos of what I cut and/discovered inside a rock. That being said, just about everything I post I sell. I do sell here from time to time but the forums for me are about sharing information and learning. I sell because I love digging and cutting and selling allows me to do this. I love the discovery in mining and cutting. So for me I it never bothers me if some one asks I encourage it! Plus if someone posts something that makes me "jones" to cut I am not shy and I will ask. No one else seems to mind so.........

You did a good job on that one Randy. There is a pretty broad variety of material to be found in and around that area. Most of it killer

I am glad it made it to you land it met your expectations orrum. Adding the fire agate is part of my evil plan to get the world addicted to fire agate!!!!lol I hope you dig out some nice bright fire on that one, I dug it at my claim. Just so you know it is self collected but brand named from the THE JEBEREDHIAH MINE......
Scott, I hope I sell out too!!! I will be going back as soon as my leg heals to see how far the vein goes. I am going try and get the rest.
pporky, Finding and grinding them is the best!!! Much deeper satisfaction to mine your own material and cut it for the world to see. Especially when you discover something special and sought after.

Jamesp, this was not cut from material from the Hog Mine. This came out of the Summer Rose Claim in the Greenhorn Mountains, California. This material also will display aterisms. Here is an example of the bright stars this material will display if the orientation is right CLICK THE BOX I have permission by the claim owner to take folks up there for collecting trips.....free of charge.

This material was deeper in the vein. I have not released any of it because it is much softer. It is not crumbly but it is soft like turquoise and rhodochrosite. Every time I tried to cab it the cab would break on the 1200 wheel. Backing it worked much better. So I will slab some up and back or stabilize the slabs before I cut cabs. This material is very pretty and I think it will be well worth the extra effort.

I wouldn't call this a matte finish by far. In the same note I also would not call this a mirror or glass finish. This material polishes well.
