Flopped. I suppose I ought to sell individual stones and start the price at $9.99 like everyone else does and then they can bid themselves up to $30 for one stone......I just don't get folks sometimes....don't know a good deal when they see it. Every show I go to as a buyer I look to see what the fire agate market is doing. Stones of my caliber are selling for $15 to $30 and beyond per stone. No worries though because I get 3 to 10 times more after I cut them, depending on the stone.

Chysoprase is easy.....the chrysoprase will be much harder (Mohs' hardness 7 or so) than Turquoise or Variscite. Harder to tell the difference with hardness between Turquoise and Variscite because they vary so much and also because some is stabilized but I think Turquoise has copper in it and Variscite does not. To add another twist is that Turquoise and Variscite can be found together or so I have read. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge with hop in and tell us more.

I really like this material. I trades some Rainbow Ledge Jasper a few years ago out at Quartzsite for some. Really cool stuff. You did a good job with it!

These auctions end around 5:15 pm tomorrow, Pacific time.
Mario, Feel free to ask other members about the quality of my fire agates. I cut the same grade stones I sell, same rough.
Peace, Christopher

I am pretty sure the Tulare club knows of a spot where you can dig smokey quartz and the Summer Rose claim is up the mountain from there.

That is the first time I have seen a bail done like that with the two side wires. I like it.

I agree with you Bill. I had similar thoughts when I was cutting this material.
This stuff is HARD! Takes a shine real easy. The Next one I cut I will make it much thinner. This one is really thick, over 8mm. I was very impatient to see how this material cut. I suspect that if I cut it thinner I will get much better results.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
