The variety is always amazing with these Rio's. Wouldn't guessed that there might be a "Montana" look hiding in one.
Thanks for posting these, Mel

Outstanding pieces. Never had a chance to work with ocean jasper and, of course, wishing now I had bothered.
Great photos! Paul

X2 on barclay comments. I'm reading this on my smart phone and am having a good time with the comments ... Whatever the thing is she's selling, which I'm sure has everything to do with lapidary work. Can't quite make out the pics...

Puppy breath! And little pot bellies. Yes, who could forget the little pot bellies? With all the dogs in my family growing up, we have only had puppies one time. A dog that came to us already pregnant. But puppies leave an indelible mark on your soul. Some memories are forever. Dogs are loyal companions and unconditional with their love and acceptance.

Don't buy cheap!! Cheap vibes last a week or two. I've had my Thumlers UV-10 for 11 years. Never settle for any less than what you really want, any hobby that's worth doing is worth doing right. Thanks for posting this thread waaaay back when, Bikerrandy. It has come in handy. Paul

nich, if it's for a Christmas gift, maybe go through the Rock Shed's tumbling rough and buy a selection of different materials. Get the widest variety possible. That would definitely make it interesting. Here's the direct URL to the Rock Shed's rough: therockshed.com/crushedrock.html. By the way, I don't work for them but I do purchase a lot of supplies through them as do a lot of other RTH members. It's a good operation. I'll tumble just about any rock. No particular favorites, they're all interesting. Paul

rxscram, thanks for the equipment; I spent part of today getting a space cleared for the additional Covington Vibe Lap and the extra pans have already come in handy. The garage is beautifully noisy right now ... rotary tumbler, vibe tumbler, two vibe laps are all happily doing their thing. Can't hear too well in there. Had the saw going for a while too, cutting some rio agates purchased from Mel. Neighbors were wondering what I was doing. LOL. About two years ago, I had a new electrical panel put in and had the electrician run two 20 amp dedicated lines to my workbench. Made a huge difference. Used to trip the breaker on the old Zinsco all the time. By the way, you have a fascinating collection of materials. Terrific stuff! Anyway, thanks again!

Bumping this back to the top...
this is a serious piece of equipment... I can see why shipping was so expensive.

Whatever they may be, that slab is interesting! Looks like it could take a nice polish as well.
