hard to tell without seing the type of breakage but quartz will fracture like glass so leans heavily towards not being nephrite

all you need to do is sacrifice one to the chipping hammer; if you can't saw it, if you have that many

I don't think the beads do a heck of a lot for it but it's not ugly and they do draw out the reddy brown in the turquoise. I'd leave it, for the effort and cost you'll get a buyer that loves it. Lloyd

I used to have a shop in the basement of a 100 year old woodframe buildingand was down there when a 6.3 rolled through. I thought the tv repair shop was rolling tvs around on his cart but realized the ground was shaking too so I called the guys to get out now and we all hit the street and watched the light standards on the 3 level parking garage wave around like a fly fishing rod. There was absolutely no damage reported

I can't believe there isn't a crossover somewhere from the sandblasting industry; I bet you can 50lb bags somewhere there.

don't even have to pick the poop if you don't want; it floats, but I hear that it doesn't taste much different than recycled grass anyway if you happen to lick one :<)'

sounds like you have a lot of good input allready but I would add to maybe point them here to some of your work that you have done. I don't think there would be any question as to the quality of your work. Lloyd

The etheiopian; welo is an area, sure are a treasure when you get peices that don't crack or that you can work around the cracks/fractures. The large amount of crystal and the fire throughout the crystal in a lot of them make large size peices and high domes possible without being doublets or triplets. You can get a showy peice for a few dollars and some time. Why would you need a thicker girdle? I hope you don't mind me dropping this in here to show what some of the lower quality stuff has for fire. If you do, pm me and I'll get rid of it Lloyd Attachments:

Darn those cement floors!! I like the medieval look of the grooves you're doing. They have the look without looking too heavy

I was cutting some new finds from the other day and as I was rough polishing the pink stuff I posted the other day and found this. I appears there is a mini deathbed in the silified sand deposite. this and a few shelled creatures were trapped and preserved to become a gem in my cab; if I make one out of it. The little guy is about 20mm long Attachments:
