LOL......they'll be wishing it was non-stop before it's over. DC is the last place ill ride my bike to. Sturgis is in 2nd. I hate crowds and to boot it would be very difficult for me to get thru DC without ending up in handcuffs.

I don't have a problem with it. Politicians/corporations screwing people left and right. This just puts a huge strain on the system. Oh well let it collapse and start over. Games up as far as im concerned.

PS......please make sure your wiring skills are better than your pulley removal skills BEFORE attempting anything and ask questions prior. Patience grasshopper!

1: If they are small sparks it's ok most likely, they are created here and there. If it looks a hand held grinder cutting Jim Carreys toe nails something is wrong. Make sure lube is 1/2" up the blade. Dress the blade anyways.
2: Could be an alignment issue search this section for that or someone with more time than me right now can locate it for you. Big difference between marks and grooves.
3: If you don't sit there and watch the moment you turn your back the saw will most likely explode causing possible bodily injury at worst and at least smoke your blade. Welcome to my world! Truthfully.....listen to your saw. You will get to know by the sound it makes if it's not operating the way it should.

Here is a saw for $400 around Columbia if anyone is interested. Been conversing with the guy, looks to be a homemade type modeled after a jenkins etc with hydraulics added. Told him i'd do him a favor since there seemed to be a lot of interests in something similar lately question is if anyone is near that area I don't know. His name is Charles, just putting this up in case anyone's in the area as this is a relatively inexpensive setup. columbiamo.craigslist.org/art/4047819470.html

Jamming, could be too slow, dull blade etc. I use 1.5"inch to 5" on my 16". 7" sounds awful big on a 16" saw. Forget about using the 3450rpm motor.
And the idea of switching different motors out for noise issues vs rock sizes is ignorant and a waste of time. 1hp is really over kill and that would probably make it hum a bit, a good 1/2hp motor will work all it has to do is spin the blade as the feed has a seperate motor. Just depends on the condition of the 1/2hp and type. His 1/2hp motor probably wouldn't cut the mustard or he wouldn't had been switching them out. Of course you have what you have so make the best of it if money is an issue.
Don't take offense to the ignorant comment I wasn't referring to you, you are completely new to this. Something you will learn is that just because someone else was using it doesn't mean they knew what they were doing and a lot of times age has no bearing on knowledge i've gotten some pretty crappy advice from old timers and nine times out of ten realize I should've just done what I wanted to in the first place.

Pretty much. Blow up the entire middle east, risk ww3, conquer the homeland as well---hell there will be nukes going off and bill collectors will be calling you at 859pm. Or more like midnight because no one will be enforcing it. LOL. Crazy times ahead. We know what they want, I won't be going along with it.

That saw sold for $2k at one point in time. Hard to make any $ selling them for much less and hard to get sold for that much unless you figure out ways to make things go together easier and faster to justify the trouble.
It was royal blue in color and came standard with a galvanized hood which I found very attractive looking(being an ex sheetmetal worker lol) however gives a bad reputation. As you can see 20+ years later it's still intact.
I was a minute away from bidding on that saw, repainted, spruced up and put on a stand it would bring $1200 all day long. Too many other projects around here it would've just ended up on the pile so congrats.

Edmohs........since you have a Lewaco now would you be so kind as to looking into how to replace the blade on it and maybe posting a pic of the underside of the table with the arbor. See if you can't remove the blade if you have time. If you can't get to it that's fine this just seems to be a subject i've ran into before with this make.

Last time I seen one of those the arbor would unbolt from the table. So unbolt the arbor, put the blade on then put the arbor back on. May want to loosen the blade while the arbor is still mounted to the saw. And yes pics would help to make sure you are steered in the right direction. It's a cast tabletop so more thought was put into that saw than just making it so you could never get the blade off. And yes that make did have a vise setup on some models it was similar to a HP tabletop setup. Lewaco made saws much larger as well I think I have literature around here somewhere of a 20" saw but I have no idea where it's at.

Personally I think there's been plenty of time since Iraq to put 2 and 2 together. Among other things: globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2013/09/separating-politics-and-war-from-oil.htmlThis bs excuses like the evil overseas guy using chemicals is getting OLD to say the least and just goes to show how stupid they think we are. Of course it would probably work if it weren't for the internet spreading the lies like wildfire. None of that matters, they present the case, ram it down your throat then go do what they want. The next big smokescreen for the obliterated US economy is coming your way. Of course apparently the propaganda works some as the last time I was at walmart the kid at the register just starting talking about how he wanted us to go to war with China and Iran out of the blue without me even saying anything. I told him to shut up and just bag my f**** groceries because you're an idiot and don't have a clue what you're talking about. He wasn't too happy but I don't really care.

Are you sure he's wanting a cab machine because you mention covington power feed which is a saw not a cab machine. Not trying to be anal but maybe the guy is so unfamiliar with lapidary he is not getting his story straight across?

Pics didn't turn out too well sorry. Red crazy lace would be my last guess if a guess at all it's not banded like an agate at all and i've seen plenty of red lace.

Yes bullets that travel miles are sometimes an annoyance esp when you live in the country like me during deer season. One time I literally was taking a whiz on the side of the house when a bullet hit the driveway no more than 10' away and whizzed off. If I hadn't been whizzing before i'm sure I would've shortly, you can't see where they're going to end up at and the country in a lot of place aint what it used to be with people moving out and building houses everywhere.
Of course i'd still love to have one despite and plenty of rednecks would pay a 'fair' price for one. The best bet would be for a large buyer to just trickle them out on the market instead of flood it with the current gun craze probably wouldn't take long to download. I think it's letting up some I am having an easier time getting ammo and I know a couple dealers with a full wall of Ar's. I thought about getting one but I already have more firepower now than I know what to do with if I can't take out intruders with what I have now it was a losing situation anyhow.
