jamesp , the stuff you're dong with glass is outstanding. good info on photography as well. Russ Thanks Russ. It is odd to make your own tumbles lol. Not many pretty rocks to find down here like you western folks have. By the way I remember you made steel barrels for your rotary. This glass was polished in a vibe with a steel hopper without issue. A surprise. The steel barrel worked great for coarse tumbles. Interesting that the glass works so well with the steel hopper on your vibe.

a) mostly. 8 pound hammer, 4 pound hammer. Home built hydraulic press thing. Wind up with plenty of little pieces. Really don't mess with smalls much, they just wind up in there and keep running in coarse until they disappear.
Not a pro, but I did stay in a sleazy motel once. OK, maybe more than once.

That rock on the right in the first photo is really nice. The tiger eye looks a little like tiger iron. The bottom center rock in that group is awesome. Rotary or vibe? Chuck That rock on the right is pretty nice, my favorite so far. I have a few more of them to get through, hopefully there are some more nice ones.
You know, maybe that is tiger iron. Tumbling it for a friend, he called it tiger eye. I just busted it up and threw it in the tumbler.
All rotary.
Thanks for the comments.

Finished up a batch over the weekend and finally got some pictures. Not overly pleased with this batch - some bruised edges and whatnot. My own fault, changed up a couple of things and some of it got hurried along to get finished up because I had other things to get done as well. You all know how it goes. Lesson learned (again). These were sold as "Mexican Red Hots". Looking them up it seems they are Berrendo geodes from Mexico. Some Montana petrified wood Mookaite
Tiger Eye
Pink Opal The next few are just some rocks I picked up in Wyoming except for the opalized wood.
Last but not least, a Bot with an unfortunate fracture. To the rework pile! Thanks for looking.

I think we're all about done with winter. Haven't shoveled snow since this afternoon. Not supposed to snow again until Sunday but it's snowing now. Oh well, that's what it does in the winter, soon we'll be griping because it's too hot.

Awesome batch again, Chuck. That one at the bottom of pic 3 which folks are asking about looks like a Berendo agate, also sold as Mexican Red Hots. I only know that because I picked up a few in Quartzsite just to see what they would do. Should be pulling them out of polish in a day or two and I'll try to get some pictures posted. Great job.
