I'm looking to buy 50lbs of 46/70 grit. Kingsley North has it for $92.50 + about $18 for shipping. Are there any better deals out there? I'm in a small town. No abrasive dealers (that I know of) nearby, so it'll have to be shipped. Lynn

I have a Lot-O & use it to finish cabs, and to burnish sterling jewelry. I love the Lot-O. It uses very little grit. The bowl looks like it will never wear through. It must be 1/4 - 1/2" thick. Lynn

First one looks like a variation of Mexican Crazy Lace agate. Second one looks like jasper with quartz as found in northern Calif. It might be known as Franciscan jasper. Lynn

Jugglerguy Thanks for your awesome video. Your camerawork was great. I felt like I was walking on the beach. I used to do that a lot, so it's embedded in my brain. I just haven't done it in a few years. Your video brought it all back. Lynn

OH come on, try harder!! haha Last time a few of us were in Cedar City this happened... That's my ass facing the camera. It's camouflaged to make it appear smaller. Good memories! It was fun hounding with a bunch of RTHers in my local stomping grounds. That was almost exactly 2 years ago - the weekend before Mother's Day. Lynn

I have no clue what you've got there. If you need a name so you can tell the customer, just call it tube agate. Lynn

I have a customer who buys cabs to set in the handles of whips! Mostly wants round cabs, which I don't do many of. She has bought from me at a show in Moab Utah 2 or 3 different years. Lynn

Some of the best drone footage I've seen. The pilot is a pro.

I cut mostly for setting in a bezel so my girdles are tapered. It's easy to hold the dop stick a little off of 90 degrees to get that angle. It's pretty easy to maintain that angle as I turn the dop & cab. BTW, I use both hands when grinding the girdle, but not always on the stick. Sometimes I help balance & roll the cab with my left hand. I usually don't cut the girdle until the 220 hard wheel. My first wheel - a 60 grit sintered cuts too fast & chips a bit.
I wish you success learning these finer points of cabbing. I hope you can enjoy the excitement that brought you to cabbing in the first place, despite the hurdles of learning. Lynn

I must differ from every one else, but if I read right the person wanted 20 percent off of one but if bought all 10 percent. I would have taken 10 percent and sold the bunch. Even if I broke even it gives cash flow. If you were losing money at 10 percent off you need to look in the mirror and see if what you are doing makes sense. I have to give up 40 percent on consignment, I let them do the pricing and I do ok. Oh and by the way should be in your area next week. Nope, they wanted it for 10% OF (not OFF) the original price. fernwood - Keep Calm & ignore the lowballers. Some people try to negotiate by belittling the seller or the thing they want to buy. This bozo is probably trying to buy cheap to resell. There are great customers out there! I love selling at shows. The internet is good too, but I like interacting with people. They are not only buying my jewelry & cabs, they are buying my story & me. Let's hear a success story. Be patient. It'll happen. Lynn

pizzano - Pigeon Blood agate is found near Green River & Moab, UT. It's very different than what we find at Brian Head, Cedar City, & Panguitch. There are 2 locations for Pigeon Blood, many miles from each other & they are slightly different. One is south of Moab & one is off Floy Rd between Green River & Moab. I've spent some time at both locations. Both are pretty picked over (unless I just don't know where to look). Lynn

I tried a bunch from eBay & Etsy, but didn't find any that were strong enough. Here's where I've been getting mine for the past few years: www.strassbourgcollection.com/magnetic-clasps/I buy the 6mm cylindrical ones (under "Other Magnetic Clasps"). I use them on my waxed cotton cords for double-sided pendants. They have a 2mm diameter hole that steps down to about 1mm. I epoxy them onto 1.8mm cotton cords. 2mm cords are difficult to fit into the hole, especially when the ends fray. I've also tried the Mag-Lok version for necklaces with a jump ring. You have to buy a fairly large minimum quantity. Lynn

I second the Raytech 10". I've got one for me & will have one for sale in a month or two. But don't wait for mine. I'm sure you'll find something good out there. Lynn

I missed this post the first time around. I first met Tony at Quartzite Jan 2011. Great guy. Friend to all. He invited me to share dinner the first time we met.
So Tony, what gym do you work out at? The Rock & Trailer Gym! Some day I'd like to go through the piles & find some goodies. Lynn
