I can't get Jade to polish in a tumbler and everything that I have read says Jade needs to get warm almost hot enough to melt wax on dop stick to get surface to flow and shine.

I have had excellant service and response from the following dealer on Ebay.
endlesscircle
He has worked with me on 3 different full boxes of misc. rough rock. He has held one of them for 4 days waiting for auction to finish so that the item could be included in the full box.

I have a 20" vibrating lap and the only problem that I have with it that you need to grind a bunch of things and then turn the plate over and then polish all that you have ready.
See my posts of today in Photo section (3). all of these were done on the lap.

I have an old 16" saw that does the same thing. The funny thing is that it does it on the side away from the side that gets the heavy oil flow from the blade. The only way I see to stop it is most likely what you want to bend some metal for. Extend the cover down inside the side of the saw?

I use the dishwasher after polishing slabs on the vibro lap to clean the left over polish off the edges. It does a pretty good job if you have the pot and pan cycle since this is a harder cleaning than would be used for dishes.

I received a Ultra Vibe 10 for my birthday. The instructions that came with it are not worth anything as far as how to load tumbling material. Does anyone have a good proceedure and a formula starting with 120/220 grit? Mostly want to polish smaller slabs. Thanks

August 3, 4 and 5 , 2007. Anyone in the area going to it.
I live in Spokane, WA and will go to the show most likely 8/4/07 and possible the 5th, then will take a swing down to Alder gulch are and Virginia City.
Anyone from that area know any good collecting areas for?

I went to the standard oil distributer and talked with them about oils for rock saws when I got mine. They recommended Shingle Oil at about $50.00 per 5 gallons. It has worked great for me.

i use an old piece of fairly heavy carpet under my 2 two barel tumblers and the noise is less than the noise of rain falling on a garage roof that has no insulation in it.
Good luck with your project.

Wanted to publicly thank connrock for the work he did for me on the autofeed arms for my 16" Hunnington Park slab saw. he did a beautiful job of fixing the threads that a previous owner had chewed up.
Thanks
