The jerky is ready. Marinated it in my special sauce for three days then dehydrated it for a few hours and now it has been bagged for the winning guess. Hey Matt how cool that you live in Seattle. It's one my favorite places. I just love rain and the Pacific Northwest in general.
This guessing game will close fifteen minutes before kickoff.

So cool to see those pictures. I go by the wind river canyon every year on my way to Yellowstone National Park. I always wondered what those fences were for but had no idea who to ask. Thanks for explaining that.

Hey, hey, hey. Haven't posted in a while, but the all-knowing Condor is still around and here to do the annual Super Bowl jerky contest. Let me explain for those of you who may not be familiar with it. I make my own beef jerky and every year I have a "guess the Super Bowl Score" contest. The first person to correctly guess the score or come closest to it will win a nice gallon size bag of said Condor Jerky. This year the two teams playing are the Seattle Seahawks (which has been my favorite team since 1977 even though I live in Texas), and the Denver Broncos. If there is a tie, the individual who posted first will win the prize. Only one guess per person please.
Let the guessing begin.....
Seattle Seahawks:_______________________
Denver Broncos:_________________________

It's all related to magnetics. My sandwiches automatically become symmetrical from top to bottom. The reason for this has to do with Earth's magnetic field which is activated from the iron that is found in the bread therefore instantly changing to its evenness just like when you stick two magnets together. On the rare occasion that the field is down and the bread is not even, then the bread gets a funky taste that not even a Condor can tolerate. And this, is the gospel according to Condor.

This is a Woodward geode that I found during the recent West Texas Blitz. It was found in an area where Mark had holstered his sidearm because he had come across mountain lion scat. It took me about fifteen minutes to dig out of the volcanic rock. All in all, it weighed about a pound and a half. This is how it looked when I first came upon it. I was thinking it was a large biscuit with plume in it. This is the entire rock. I cut out a small piece because I thought that there was a biscuit within a biscuit and this is what I found. Here it is cut in half. And this was the end result. Condor

It was a great pleasure meeting you and your wife Brian. Both of you are wonderful people. Thank you so much for the box of performs and large chunks of rough as well as the RTH sticker. Remember, any time you crave beef jerky or fruit leather, I'm just a PM away.

Here are few pics. Whoa! Gotta pick that agate up! Somewhere on the ranch. Top L to R: Dan, Gil, Ed, Jeri, Mark, and Jamie. Missing is Bryan, his wife Krista, and Jeri's friend. Resting after a long day of rock collecting. By this time the temperature was in the low forties. At night it got to thirty four degrees there at the WWR. We were freezing. Notice how the warm campfire is keeping Mark's feet warm. What an incredible cab. Condor

Glad you made it back safely Dan. It was a great pleasure to see you and spend time with you again. I'm sure there will be many stories to tell and pictures to post by those of us that were there. Here is my first story. It comes at the very, very, end of the of the trip. We (Ed, Jamie, and I), had driven back from Woodward Ranch where we camped out, to the RV camping area where the rest of the clan camped at to say our goodbyes. Well, Dan has this super friendly, super cute dog with a personality to match. His name is Lucky. Everyone fell in love with him. He is half pug and half beagle. He is in Dan's Jeep so Dan lets him out for us to say goodbye to him too. I'm about five yards away and Lucky sees me. He lights up and as I crouch down with my arms open for him to come to me he starts running really fast towards me. There I am and there he comes. Beautiful moment. Picture it in slow motion. There I am and there he goes. Right past me. I'm left hang in'. Jamie was behind me to my right sitting at a table minding her own business. He ran right towards her. That happy, loving look and dash from that little canine was alas, not meant for me. It was for her. Until next time my chubby little friend. I'm happy to have known you.

I wish you were coming to Tom. Chuck, do stop in Winslow, Arizona. I stopped there some years ago and stood at a corner with a bronze statue of Glen Frey. I was taking a picture of my wife when all of a sudden this mean looking gorilla type biker on a Harley stops, looks at us then gets off his bike and walks towards us. Oh boy! He shakes our hands and asked if we wanted him to take a picture of us together. Great guy. Nice place because of the song.

Tom, thank you very much for the Needle Peak tips! Condor, excellent suggestion to avoid sunburned necks! I only have 4 walkie talkie radios. Is anyone else bringing some? 5 days until I hit the road! ;D I have a pair of radios. They're supposed to be 15 mile distance but that's as the crow flies. Up hills and gullies and such, it's less, but I doubt we'll be that far away from each other anyway. Condor Later, jeri

Excellent advice Tom. Here's an idea for the hats. My wife sewed about ten inches of towel fabric to the back of my hat to keep the sun off the back of my neck. Works great and helps prevent sunburn and all that other bad stuff that goes with it. For those of you going to Needle Peak, don't worry about the walking sticks. I will be bringing each one of you one. They come from the sotol cactus plant and are very hardy and durable. I still have one that I made over twenty years ago and it's still going strong.
