Great photo, Mel. That one looks to be very interested in what are you doing. Or maybe was thinking - what a hack, I look better en face, anyhow."

What a delicacy. For me as a geologist this gold in quartz is even more interesting. It is very rare. You know that usually you don't see gold in gold mines. Concentration of gold in ore is commonly around several ppm. That means a couple of grams per ton. And that is a rich ore. Great work, Bob.

My recent work. Opal (Serbia). Jet (thanks to John) Dendritic opal set (Serbia, Zlatibor Mt.). Ring, earrings along with pendant that I posted earlier make this set. This Black Jade and Ruby ring is also part of the set I posted earlier. This is my last faceted stone (posted earlier to) - Smokey Quartz. Cabochon is Opal from Madagascar. Very nice but very tricky to cut. Jet, again. Shoomadia Orbicular Jasper. Picture Jasper from Divcibare. I am thinking of calling this jasper - Tometino Picture Jasper since Tometino is the name of the field where it is found. Turquoise and Malachite pendant. OK, I played a bit more then usual. ;D Lapis and Malachite. Again. Garnet. Amethyst (Malawi). Australian opal (doublet) and Azurite (Serbia) pendant. This one my wife kidnapped. Jet again. This was a present for a colleague of mine for finishing her dissertation. The dissertation was from the field of investigation and exploration of coal. I thought that Jet would be the most appropriate gift. Thanks for looking. Zoran

Thank you all very much. Since the Christmas and New Year holidays are coming I will have more free time (hopefully) and promise to post more. Tony, I did some silverwork to and I'll be posting them shortly. Ed, I am glad that that there is somebody who understand what I am going through. Maybe it is because your roots are from these terrains ;D I wouldn't say that this is a bad period of my life, not at all. It is only that it's so intense. All that thing and work to do. On the other side kids are growing up. I try to be there for them as much as I can. I know it is not enough, at least for me. All those questions - unexpectedly serious and sensible. Helping with homeworks. So many obligations but time spent with them is priceless. Thank you all, again. Zoran

Thank you for compliments regarding making of the pendant and Christmas greetings also. I wish you all Merry Christmas.
The one small thing John (Jack) forgot to mention is that he sent me box of exquisite Jet (and some nice local agate to) first. It was after I asked him to do so and he very kindly and promptly did it. That Jet helped me to have successful presentation of a paper on the international coal conference held in Belgrade in November. I promised then to send box of rocks in return. It is my shame that it took me this long. John/Jack (Yorkshire) rocks.

I am here. Or somewhere out there. ;D Basically, I am lacking free time. Good thing is that I am trying to make some money from jewelery that I am making, so I have time for rocks. Practically I have two jobs now. I am lurking pretty regularly but, usually, when I get home in the evening, just don't have strength to be more active. Of course I'll try to contribute, from time to time with pics of my work. Here are some of my recent cabs. Malachite. Pretty small cabs (an order), if I remeber right 10x8mm or something like that. Belgrade Landscape Jasper Chalcedony from Letze area Chrysoprase Dendritic Opal Labradorite Malachite Malachite Petrified wood (I tried to keep the twig and only chamer it on one end). Petrified wood. Pictire jasper from Divcibare Again and again Chalcedony from Fruska Gora Mt. Tiger eye Thanks for looking. Zoran

I like carnelian. Especially when Bob is cutting them. Now days is very hard to find natural, untreated carnelians. That makes this two big guys more valuable. Zoran

As usual, great cabs. I can't decide which one is my favorit among three last one. Maybe that Graveyard cab... but the malachite. All are great. Zoran

That is great Randy. Very thoughtful of you. You are going to be blame if I buy one of those vibratory tumblers. I just need to be careful that my wife doesn't see this thread. Then she is going to have excuse for what she is telling me all the time - "all your best pieces should stay at home and I'll be your best promoter". I am always answering that she is too expensive. ;D And if she hears about 5 best pieces - I am a dead man. Zoran

That is great, Adrian. That trick with epoxy and crushed stone should work just fine. You just need to let the epoxy to dry enough. Then you'll be able to polish it just fine. I expect to see you silver-smithing very soon. You definitely have the talent. Zoran

Thank you guys. Adrian that is the same stone. Regarding the picture of the table of the stone - it looks best from that view, but also that is the trickiest to photograph. And it's not secret, design is standard round brilliant cut. Kd, it's 8 mm in diameter. Stones... I am faaar from master level, but than you nevertheless. I'll keep trying though. ;D Thanks Zoran

Thank you very much. I am glad that you liked them. I have great fun making them and when somebody likes them - what else I can ask for. ;D Stonesthatrock, I did start to sell them. Actually, from all these 11 pieces only 3 are left with me. Of course I can make them again, although they are never identical, especially the stones (which is the best part of the story). Thanks.
