Win , you look pretty normal in most of those pictures. Something went wrong in the seventies, though. The '70s went up in smoke!

I picked up the small grinder w/flexshaft at Harbor Freight. Not sure how it will get used but I have an idea for my wife to experiment with. I ordered the 8220, needed a new Dremel anyway.

I just finished my second batch but I'm only using a 3 lb barrel, for now. I think some will go to customers kids, some will go to family and some I'm just keepin'. I'd love to build up large a quantity so we could attempt an art project or use to decorate. I do have a new Lot O that's waiting to go, that'll speed up the process.

I see your point but new technology is here to stay. I love the work of Ansel Adams and others like Dorothea Lange, they made the most out of what was available. My friend, Marcy Starnes, that took those pictures is a world class Wildlife photographer but likes to experiment. I'll bet she grew up with 35MM, like I did, shot B&W and Kodachrome.
I still have my first 35, bought in 1965, but have moved to digital. I don't have Photoshop, only use Picasa for simple adjustments and have my work in galleries. Are you still doing photography?

Thanks, Lynn, that was fun out there! No intention to rockhound but did get some unusual Agate in a wash, totally by accident. Might have to make that yearly trip. I'll check out Harbor Freight, I might go to ST George tomorrow, one of my three yearly trips.LOL I thought you were in St. George - Utah's Dixie. Lynn Nope, Toquerville!! My customers back East love that I'm in Utah and then when I say Toquerville they get a good laugh.

Thanks for the advise. Those Foredom look nice but I don't think I'm at that level, yet! I'm still buying tumblers and wanting a small saw.

I have an older Dremel but I'm in the process of upgrading/adding equipment. Any favorite? I'm going to get the drill press and flexible cable, too. I'll use this to clean up rocks and attempt to drill holes.
If you use Discover, they have 5% Cash Back from now until 12/13. I'll use up that $1500.00 max in a hurry! I'll uses the RTH banner to order, too.

I spent a fee days passing through that area to scratch one item off the Bucket List last May. The area is amazing. I have to ask ... Did you brave the Moki Dugway highway near Mexican Hat? If you did, you will never forget it. If you didn't, check out the U-Tube videos and put it on your Bucket List. Some of the greatest excitement imaginable considering there is no admission price for the thrill. Sure they could use some guard rail, but that would lessen the excitement. Darryl. We've driven the Moki Dugway numerous times, on other trips. We didn't go onto Cedar Mesa this trip, from Bluff we were mostly on or around Comb Ridge. My wife is not fond of the MD!

Part 2 Off to Moab for scenery - Mesa Arch: Balcony Arch: We were driving in wash and stopped to look around, found these, only had a plastic garbage back, no buckets!! Added bonus for the trip was the Pebbles and Points Rock Show in Moab. the most interesting table turned out to be one of us! Zarguy, Lynn from Cedar City. Absolutely beautiful Cabs! Had a nice visit with him, hope to get together in the near future.

We just spent a week in SE Utah, Monument Valley to Moab. This was not a rock collecting trip, just exploring some ruins, rock art and back country. Started in Monument Valley, Sunrise from the deck of our cabin: Moved up to Bluff, UT to explore ruins - River House: Tower Ruin: Another stop, got out and the ground was covered with Jasper, great looking but off limits because of location in a National Monument: To be continued

Nice finds and great scenery! Would love to be able to go out and fill a bucket with nice rocks close to home. Does your dog attack the water coming out of the hose also? I can't wash the car, water a plant, spray the patio, clean off rocks or anything else without my pup going all spastic on the water. Yup, Koko loves the hose, almost any water! I feel very fortunate to be able to get out and collect some local rocks. My wife loves this and our best friends are taking an interest. Thanks for the comments.

We go out every Saturday looking for something different to do. Sometimes it's just a back country drive, sometimes dedicated rock hounding, sometimes just scenic photography. The best is when we include all three! We got shut out of a burn area couple of weeks ago. Saved the day by going up Dry Forks Rd to an area where I've found tumbling sized agate. On the way out we stopped at Brianhead to fill a few pails. Didn't go to the Creek, stopped short and searched the South side, it was productive. A sampling: "C'mon, throw me my disc": The smaller Agate"
