As my grandad always said "You never know who your friends are until you need someone to hold the pail while you throw up blood". I'm glad you're gonna be okay sands...I'm glad you're looking after him doc. Most of all I'm glad you two found each other and can't wait to see what you end up collaborating on. As for meeting good people on the web? I've met more than a few that way...heck I married one of them and I've never done a smarter thing in my life! Please keep up the news flashes doc.

There is a reason Sands met up with Doc when he did. I am grateful they met and Doc was there to help Sands! An abscess tooth is serious and can be fatal. I've had a few myself already. It is the worse pain I have ever felt in my life. Next to having surgery on your jaw with no Novocaine! I feel your pain Sands, really I do. I've had a tooth that has been feeling tingling for a few days...and I'm thinking Not Again!!! Please take care of yourself. Take all of your meds and get that infection flushed out of your system. You will feel so much better once you do and the healing begins. You were very lucky Sands. God is watching over you even when you don't feel it. But, you may have used up one of your nine-lives with this close call! LOL! Thank you Doc for being there and assisting him when he needed you. Thank you for taking the time and being a real friend to him. Now he just needs a little TLC! Heal fast Sands and please take care! Thinking of you... Debs

Hey, Sands is about to post a post. It is really fun watching him. He is drooling, has one eye closed, and uses one finger to type. He has been at the typing thing for about four hours on this post, which is good as Jenne's mother cannot call while he is on line. Hang in there, he might get a post out some time tonite. He just finished his first sentance. Yay!

I just wish I could have kept his teeth. I got to see them pull them out. I asked for them but they said it was against some yuppie law or something. Phooey. I thought it would have been real nice to cast them in silver. One was in pretty good shape, one was blotto. The bad one was cracked in half with just the root left. The Dr had to split the root so it would come out really easily. It was in effect a fistula extraction. That is where the tip of the root penetrates the sinus. If Sands had gone to a regular dentist, and if the dentist missed seeing the fistula, Sands might have died. By chance, he let me take him to a surgeon first. I give Sands a lot of credit. He is more terrified of dentists than anyone I have ever seen. I genuinly believe, if I had not insisted, and Sands had not just come here, some not real good things would have eventually resulted. I tell you what. The anesthesiologist was real eye candy! I had never seen anyone in an operating room in a mini skirt, tight shirt, and totally competent before. I had known the lady from before. She is a real cool person. Before she worked for the surgeon, she was an extreme trauma nurse. She was the one who flew in the chopper directly from the emergency, and went into the operating room from there. Sands was in good hands. Great scenery also.

Okay either I'm getting old or I need glasses because, doc, I read your post three times before I realized you didn't say "That is where the tip of the root penetrates the anus". It's a scary thing being inside my head sometimes.

It iis a good thing we did not meet untill way after the sixties! Heh heh heh. That is my best dirty old man cackle. I just forget where I am. Jenne hates it when I wake up, look at her and ask "who are you?" We end up having words.

I gave him a piece of Mount St. Helens I picked up when I was there, from the debris field. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with it. I am teaching him how to wrap sharks teeth. He is trying. He did one, I touched it up, and it looks like one of mine. He is coming right along. I am going to have him do some torch work tomorrow.

Hey, you should have seen Sands workin the cabs today! While he was cutting, I sold three of his cuts. I am going to have to set them, and two are due Sunday, but, he does cut a mean stone. He watches me repair, and sometimes just stares. People come to me when every jeweler has turned them down. Of course no one tells me untill after. I kinda know it however. I handed Sands an emerald to be worked. After he weighted it, I told him the worth. He almost died! He does not like to work on pieces of value unless it is his to waste. We worked him to the bone today, I did some Karoake and in general, the market was slow as usual for this time, and we had the only customers. Sands is impressed. I think, if he likes it here, he can be completely self supporting at the market. I could sure use another person to take some of our customers. I am only one person.

Doc, I'm sure glad you were there to take care of Sands! Sounds like you're all having a good time. Sands, I'm so glad you're doing better and finally able to try out that Genie. I think if I was you, I would just spend the Winter in Floriduh. Sounds like a great oportunity to learn all aspects of the business. Trish

Earlier this year I had dental surgery and had one heck of a time recovering from it. Many hugs to Sands, cause that pain can be darn near unbearable without lots of pain killer. I was ill from the surgery for several weeks before I could convince the dentist to just give me antibiotics to clear up the infection. (I swelled up too....elephant-man style!)
Overall, there is something about folks who work or have worked with their hands that sets them apart from others. I think you're both "class acts". I'm also jealous as can be that you're getting to enjoy each others company while doing something you love. Nothing is better than that! Good or bad....you'll both have LOTS of stories from this trip!
My regards to both of you....and look forward to seeing what you two have been up to as of late! Doc...when can I come for a visit? *smiles*
