Max cut on a 7" tile saw is about 1 1/2" - 2", unless you roll the stone. Might be a good option, though.
They are very loud and messy, but usually not a problem if you can do it outside and hose things down afterwards. Stand behind the saw and pull the rock toward you unless you want to take a shower in rock snot.

That's a bummer Sheri! Hang in there!
If you can't find good care where you are, make an effort to get a second opinion elsewhere. Best wishes for pain relief and prevention!

Agree with the ID. Yes, the whole thing is the fossil. If you're going to do anything with it split it down the middle (from top to bottom in your first pic) as Daniel suggested, otherwise put it on the shelf as is.

Randy is the master at these. I think bell caps are the only way to go on this kind of volume. Who has time to drill that many pendants?

I have the very same saw, incl. auto feed. I don't have the slab catcher, though. You'll really enjoy that saw! Let me know if you have any questions about it.
FYI: You can use it as a trim saw by taking out the thumb screw and flipping the vise out of the way.

Nice finds! The "outstanding red" one reminds me of a Fairburn. A few of the other red ones look like Lakers and the tan ones look like Crowley Ridge. The all get washed downstream...

Great tumble, Chuck! Just reinforces my feelings that Lakers are my favorites. The description of skip an atom that Chuck gave above came from here: rockhoundstation1.com/pdfs-etc/June2009.pdfwhich has a lot of great info. and pics. Daniel, I'd love to see your skip an atom in person. They're new to me and now I want to survey my collection to see if I have any. Chuck

My mother and sister were both potters. I must say those are some very fine pieces. I can' t help with the valuation, but I can admire them! Thanks for sharing!

Glad she's back. I had Siamese who lived to be 21, but she used to disappear for 3 days at a time. Always came back, though. She knew her way home! Chuck

Welcome Amy! The Rock Shed www.therockshed.com is a community favorite. Kingsley North www.kingsleynorth.com has Lakers at a pretty good price. And you've posted in the right place for the best deals (from the members). Chuck

Chuck,
I can't say for certain, but it looks like my old blade on my 18" saw. Mine had a notched rim. My blade was well used before I got it, but it cut fine as long as it was dressed. It did struggle with really hard materials like Flint Ridge or palm bog. Most agate and jasper was fine.
Good luck with it!

Yep, beef, it's slabbed. It was a saw killer because it's very hard.
Absolutely incredible IMHO. Just need to find time to take pictures and post.

LOL Condor! I've been thinking about that Eagles tune, too. Along with "I want to sleep with you in the desert tonight, with a million stars all around."
Hey Beef: I found that palm bog about 5 yrs ago on my first trip to Stillwell. It is the only piece I've found there. No doubt there is more, but I wouldn't set my expectations very high that you'll find it.
