Very nice wraps. I've never used channel wire but it looks great. Thanks, Diane. Channel wire is really good for thin stones and quick wraps. Good to know. Thanks

Nicely done. It shows that good things do come in small packages.

Wow, my shoulder hurts just looking at that pile of preforms. Those cabs are all fantastic. I'm partial to Bots but the doublets are definitely the stars of the shoe IMHO.

Great batch of doublets. IMHO I'd say you're over the edge, not borderline....lol. The addiction is real. Thanks Diane! I sure as heck didn't want to ADMIT it! LOL LOL, yeah but isn't the first step to admit you have a problem? LOL

I’m definitely not ruling out jasperella. It very well could be. I’d rather it be identified correctly than label it otherwise. So I appreciate your input on it. You're welcome. I'm with you about wanting things identified correctly.

realrockhound, are you sure you got the material in the bucket from the Luna agate location? The more I look at your photos the more I think what you could have is Jasperella since the claim was located in 2001 and was last active in 2020. I know some material from that claim was most likely sold in Quartzsite at some time. I don’t know where it exactly came from. If the mine was located in 2001, then I know for certain the material in the bucket was in there far before 2001. Most everything I obtained came from my grandpa. Where I pulled that bucket from, I remember all that stuff being stuffed away and buried when I was still very very young. I just know the mine was located in 2001 but it could have been a known rockhounding area from who knows when. I know I was told about it from a guy who had rockhounded the area and picked up material before it was a claim. It sure looks like the same material to me. Online there are a few references to Jasperella material from Arizona. The few references to Red Luna Agate seem to have a different look to them. What makes me think it's Jasperella is the green "rind" for lack of a better word on the outside of your pieces. Almost all the pieces (and there aren't a lot) that I have found or seen from that site had the green. It seems like Luna is more on the blue/purple or brown outside of the nodules. Just my take on it.

Those are beauties for sure. The red looks like some I've found that is from an old claim near Quartzsite called Jasperella. I have a few pieces of it and it looks very similiar. This is a wrap I did with a cab of that material Here is a slab from the one good piece I found in January at that same location. realrockhound, are you sure you got the material in the bucket from the Luna agate location? Welcome to the forum from south central Arizona. Yep, I live between Aguila and Wickenburg as hummingbirdstones said. I do know of a few areas for rockhounding around here if you want to send me a private message I can give you more information or we could maybe even go hounding when you're here schedules permitting. A few areas that come to mind are 4th of July Butte near Tonopah and Saddle Mountain in that same area. Both are easy to get to with any vehicle and not a lot of digging required or tools needed.

I can think of some cabs of material I've collected but may challenge myself more to see if any green ones are around. Hmmmmm.
