Heck, you could make a pitch for a porn film to be shot there! I'm sure we could come up with some good titles for the film! Maybe Bamboobs,Bamboo shoots, lots of possibilities. snuffy

An update on our weather situation here in my part of Texas. After all the record rainfall in May,when it stopped, hasn't rained since.I cut the last hayfield Thursday, took about 7 weeks to get through everyone that was backlogged. Burn bans going into effect, dry grass galore in all the area. I hit a rock with the cutter and started a fire in one hayfield the other day! Temps hitting 100 most every day now. Typical August weather here.

These guys are pretty good at finding water. Ever give them a thought? news.yahoo.com/water-witch-dowsing-california-drought-145325572.htmlTassey can’t explain what makes him special, why he apparently has this ability that others do not. He had hoped that one of his four kids might have the gift, but none did. Only him. Some have speculated it has something to do with the magnetic core of the earth. He doesn’t know. He just has something, a gift that God has given him to use, and he’ll likely use it until the day he dies. “The farmers here have been good to me all these years, to all of us here,” Tassey says. “Now it’s my turn.” Interesting article. I haven't ever used rods to find aquifers, but I take 2 metal rods, one in each hand, bent to swing freely. I find buried waterlines, and follow them.Made many believers out of skeptics when I went to their homes, where I had never been, and found all their water lines.Magnetic field bound to be involved.I guess the reason never tried aquifers is water is everywhere underground here. snuffy

I've been busy gardening and canning since March and since the rain has slowed down here, cutting hay in the hayfields 10-12 hours a day nonstop, everyone is about 6 weeks behind.I do check out the posts early in the morning and when I get home.

A pic of a tumbled piece of South African banded jasper as it was sold as. There was a member on here several years ago that posted pics of a huge amount of banded iron he had come across and I wanted to get a bunch from him,but he never came back on here after that. Can't remember his name. snuffy

gorgeous healthy plants. Please explain the setup for growing, are those 5 gallon pots? Do I see a hole dug between each plant, dishes with something for worm or slug control, or what is it that I am seeing? thanks! I plant my tomatoes in gallon nursery pots when I buy the plants in 6-packs from Lowe's.They grow in a hothouse until I figure danger of frost is past. When I plant them in the garden,I dig a hole with a hand post hole digger.I then push a 5 gal. pot with the bottom cut out a couple inches in the soil around them. Keeps critters off, protects agaist wind whipping the young plants, and warms the plant.A cage around them, and nothing much left to do until harvest. I bury a gallon nursery pot between the plants. This is the way I water them when necessary. Also water in the 5 gal. pots surrounding them.My beds are rounded and sloping for excess rain drainage,so this gives them a deep watering with no runoff. snuffy
