Those are really pretty! Especially with those quartz veins, but even without!

Beautiful set. I like the yellow Moroccan Agate the best I think - yellow and pink together are pretty. But also all the rest!

Nooooo! You can't retire John! Are you still going to be in the drop shipping business at least?

That's neat. Is that the Wanong stuff? It looks almost more like the turkish, with the transparent area. Cant say for certain. Seller never told me what part it came from? Would of liked to have picked up more then just a slab. I found the Turkish stuff to be more tan in color and less transparent from looking at the ones I have. A little less appealing to me. Well, whatever it is, I really like it!

Win, I use the Drelem 8820 with flexshaft and adjustable chuck. The flexshaft and chuck are absolutely mandatory for me. Next time though, I'd get the "plug in the wall" model rather than the battery model - doing jewelry work, I have to swap out for my extra battery about every half hour of motor run time. Also, a foot pedal would be really sweet, that's another advantage of the Foredom (or foredom-style) machines. They are always selling Foredom knock-offs at our rock shows around here, don't know if it will last. The Dremel has lasted just fine for metal work - doesn't strain the motor too much, plenty of power. 5 years ago I said I'd use the Dremel "for now, to see if I like the hobby", and it's still going strong. I want it to die so I can get a micro motor with a foot pedal and a/c power, but it won't die!

I never polish the backs of mine unless I know I'm going to set it in an open back setting. But then, I don't sell them. I do bevel the corners, as Pat and Tela mentioned. When I do polish, I try to do it on the wheels, and if necessary switch to the flat lap. For the flat lap, I'll redop with the wax on the polished face. But I don't dop for the wheels anymore.

Cool! I downloaded it - I'm thinking it might help with my opal carving exploration I plan to try pretty soon. Thanks so much!
