Interesting as once in awhile in the summer months I will swim in beaver dams. Sometimes they get pissed off and will slap their tales on the water but usually they hide. Can't say i've ever been attacked but I don't try and get close to them.

I'd try a dry gasket, cork or regular stuff, without anything liquid like silicone. That will setup and make it a pain to get back open and when you did you'd have to scrape it all off.
I can't really tell by looking but you might consider a 4 sided light gauge sheetmetal box that would just sit in the bottom tank and extend above the tank by say 1/2" (as the upper tray looks like a 1" lip in the pic) and that would block the seam everywhere except the go-thru shaft. The shaft area could always be a problem but you could experiment with things like dense felt and probably stop most of it.
You could also put the sheetmetal on the top part but then you'd have to figure out how to attach it and im not normally trying to figure out how to glue metal together.
If you wanted to try this idea I have a sheetmetal brake and metal I would trade a small box for a slab or something. Only problem is you'd have to remove the shaft. And then notch out for it.

So I wonder where this ridiculous carbon tax credit as an alt currency idea comes into play here? Like Wampidy says.........it probably doesn't work but the big companies will be showered with credits. LOL.

Awesome. I even get excited seeing other people get good deals lol. It helps to have a mechanical knowledge at sales.........sometimes ill buy stuff I have no idea what it is but can tell by it's construction it might be worth something. Kinda like the like new nordic juicer that I bought for $5. Had no idea what it was. Auctioneer said and there went the deal of the day as I walked away with it. Went home later and found out it was a 2k machine. Nice.

Cool deal. First time I slabbed rainbow I was around 10. So I decided to get some more and ordered a couple bags from them myself but my honeydo list is 1745.56 miles long so needless to say I haven't got to it.
I keep telling her we need to sell this place and move to a crappy single wide trailer on 10 acres and just mow paths to the car and rock shed and spend time doing things we like vs. this modern day bs. I can't seem to convince her of this lol.

Although sometimes messy if not careful...........sand is easily transferable and you can dial in the weight better than odd size rocks, steel pieces etc.

As long as there's enough water to brew my beer that's all that matters.

No, I don't want a glass of wine with dinner. I want the whole bottle. LOL.
I know plenty of guys that drink at bars this isn't a preventative measure it's an 'effect'. And i'm sure the thought of extra $ doesn't hurt either. Really........how many construction guys are going to discuss .08 vs. .05 after work? Zero. Ok......maybe a very small % and the majority of them will already have a DWI.

Looks great. Sometimes my rocks seemingly disappear and end up in the rock garden not sure how that happens.

Get help. LOL. Me and one other guy just carried a Lortone 18" saw out of a basement. Only a 225lb saw but the stairs were way past code for steepness. I wanted to take the motor off but the other guy wanted to be manly so away we went. He started crying about halfway up and I had to keep on his ass to keep going. I figured that would happen but I was in one of those moods to punish stupidity. LOL. I guess some of my bad qualities from being in construction for 20 years still shine thru on occasion. Eventually you just go numb trying to talk sense into someone with rocks for brains(no offense anyone lol) and it's like well whatever.

A single guy decided life would be more fun if he had a pet. So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet. After some discussion, he finally bought a talking centipede, which came in a little white box to use for his house. He took the box back home, found a good spot for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to the pub for a drink with him. So he asked the centipede in the box "Would you like to go down the pub with me today? We will have a good time". But there was no answer from his new pet. This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked again "How about going down the pub with me?" But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet. So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation. The guy decided to invite the centipede one last time. This time he put his face up against the centipede's box and shouted "Hey, in there! Would you like to go to the pub with me? This time, a little voice came out of the box "I heard you the first time! I'm putting my bleeping shoes on!"

Sorry about that. Scary. Esp out here in the sticks. Last week my friend down the road caught a truck parked at the end of the drive and got a pair of binoculars only to find he was being stared out by someone in the truck with binoculars as well. So we've been on kinda high alert. Sheriff said there's been a lot of robberies around here lately. Several things will deter crooks, gates, fences, dogs, stereos etc. Problem is if they are drugged up those things might not matter.

I don't screw around with anything other than morels. A lot of people around here will eat the beefsteaks but they have a toxin in them that never leaves your body. You can die after one, or 30 years later it just depends on your level of tolerance. I think I seen a batch of chanterelles but i'm not experimenting. I see articles and pics online but I think I would have to actually have someone train me in person not worth the risk to me.
Personally I love the plain ole deep fried button mushrooms or whatever they are called. In mass quantity.
