good ones! every one a winner. definitely different in the last 2, but which would I choose if I could only have 1? They both have a lot going on- which one do you like best?

Thanks for the show and the wonderful story, the photos are awesome. I will never get out that way but it is the next best thing to see and hear from folks who've 'been there, done that'. Wonderful sights and things you did that will stay with you all forever. priceless. Thank you for sharing with us.

you are ever so colorful today! I could say something about coming through it with flying colors... Bet you become a human rainbow in a day or 2... best wishes for rapid healing and staying comfortable and pain free. All that time to have the diagnosis hanging over your head. Grrr, you'd think they'd tell you as soon as they know. doesn't seem fair somehow. will check back here often. keep healing!

yes, these fossils are mostly limestone in oil shale, they smell of petroleum when cut and do not cab very well. We do find some which have more silica, but the black ones are usually pretty soft and the black will undercut badly in a tumbler and maybe even on a wheel.

glad you're enjoying them Fossilman! Thanks for sharing the pics, I love to see what they look like when they are cut! D-do you have a saw or tumblers,cabbers,etc...for working rocks? fossilman, just a 3 lb lot-o Vibe tumbler, and a dremel flex tool for making windows, I think I have tracked down somebody who will cut some of the things I find on barter and for a fee. just have to save some $$ and decide which ones get the chop first!

Cool fossils. What is the green stuff in the first couple posts? hmm, green rock that has natural copper flecks through it... copper ore, not sure what the name for the green part of the rock is. I'll look it up.
