Wow, Billy, beautiful rings! Green stone is pretty hard to come by and those are awesome stones (especially the darker one). Lucky lady. I liked the lighter one at first. But the darker just says wow.

Hey, do you have large material too?? I still have a milk crate of rough and the largest piece is only about 6”x4.75”x 3”. All are the larger 3.5”-4”+ sizes. Big enough for knapping points. What size were you looking for? I took a photo of what I have left with another tablet...the battery died and album has not updated to this one yet. Jeff A I would take a medium box of cutters.

I might have something that looks similar to this but will need New wheels. It is used and dirty. Need a water supply and put it on a stand and rollers. With a set up like Chuck has its will be a super grinder. I will look at it this week end and might be able to deliver to WildWood next week if I have to go to Oklahoma to pick up a machine for work. I will get pic if you want on Sunday. www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/star-lapidary-arbor-polishing-1838551887

I get them on ebay mostly. That saw will take a 5" blade, too.
The blades are cheap, but I like them for preforming.
Do you use the small trim saw to shape tumbling rocks or preform for cabachons?

Just make sure the pot has the removable ceramic insert. Makes it a dream to clean.

I will do that, is a window better than cutting it in half? Is the pink one of those two things? If this will just be a specimen, then a window would work better IMO (would make a flat place to use as a base). Cut it anyway you wish if you are thinking of cabbing, though. The pink could be thomsonite (which is what I've seen), datolite or some other mineral. There are also possibilities other than chlorastrolite for the green (including, but not limited to datolite and thomsonite) - which is why I'd want to cut and sand/polish a surface to better examine the structure details under a loupe or other magnification. The thomsonite from the UP is usually Prehnite. Easy to confuse the two. I might even likethe Prehnite better than the Thomsonite.

I don't like making earrings, smithing or the stone work. I do though like what you polished up. You silver work is always off the chart I will watch patiently to see the finished product.
