chrisperez, it'll be milder than you think! It still supposed to look like a butterfly, right? lol! This is actually harder than I thought it would be! Here's the 'base' form around the butterfly.

Yes, the people here are very special folks!! Amber, Tony and Donna, you guys are the best! I love that we rockhounds take care of each other, and as hard as times are now, the truly good people hearts shine through. Ha! Now why did boulder opal just pop into my head? lol!

Oh boy, got my butterfly today in the mail...the first one flew to places unknown, but this one made it! However, one wing was attached, and one was off! I'm trying without success to get the other off, and I bought Super Glue Remover, but it won't budge. I tried acetone, no luck. HELP!! modify: Aw heck. I'm impatient to get started. I'll just glue back the second wing and do it that way! ;D

I think every year, even when I have a backlog of rock to get to, it doesn't matter (!!) I need to treat myself to one of Jamie's boxes. Any day I get a box, it's like Christmas morning and I'm 6 years old again!!!

Also, watch for the traveling rock boxes here...it travels to a bunch of RTH'rs, and you exchange. if you've been purchasing some from the rock shed, maybe you have some you can put in for others in there...and honestly, that darned box got soooo hard to close up and pack I'm sure none of us will begrudge someone starting out to take a bit more out of it than you put in! Your cost is to ship the flat rate box onto the next person, about $10-$12.

Good to hear it, Mudshark! I find that most of the rock I cut are about that size. Larger ones, I can probably break up or take it to the local rock shop to 1/2 into a more managable size. Do you use water or oil?

So...have you purchased anything yet? I, too, am interested in a 10" Covington. Mostly because I'm not at ALL mechanically inclined, and like the hood, and the use of water and I rarely saw big rocks. I like my slabs small and cute. lol!

Woohoo! Catmandewe is back in business! Nice to see her running. You may have to go from buckets to barrels, though...lol.

Drool!!! I always drool over the boxes Jamie puts up. If I wasn't soo behind on the last two boxes I got from Jamie, I'd be very sorely tempted! Oh, heck, I am anyway... I think she's actually a secret SUPER squirrel with those kind of stashes!

Ha! Understanding that I go crazy with wire, send one off to me too! Looks like fun! Small ocher colored one, if I can choose! Or the smaller one with the green body, I think will stand out against the copper wire colors. What a design challenge!

Ack! me and hammers, and I usually lose...lol. Yes, thank you for that advice! I really don't wear pins much, but I am knitting a vest right now that uses one.
