I've read bits about this stuff off and on, have been interested to see the attempted revival of interest in the stuff. Thanks for taking the time to post. good input.

Jimi how do you polish your slag glass when you work it? broseph82 if tumbled, would it be done the same way as regular glass or obsidian? rattlehead works with glass quite a bit and jamesp has tumbled a lot of it. hopefully they will chime in. welcome to the forum lindalouise

rockpickerforever Jean, I am drooling over that breccated whatsit. The green looks a lot like the epidote/olivine we find here... do you think some of the white nodules/inclusions are amygdaloidal in nature? Its darn complex and fascinating as all get out. (love it!)

Have you been harvesting poke salad ? mature poke salad 10-12 feet tall will turn ya purple when mowing it with a tractor. It will stain polished glass. Takes 3 years to wash(wear) off. my kids painted themselves with poke berries one time when I was out and their father was (not) "watching" them. Purple kids for about 2 weeks, gradually fading to gray, lots of scrubbing. Lucky they didn't eat a bunch of them. I don't think I would ever have forgiven him. (still a sore spot, 25 years later).

huge and beautiful. I wonder sometimes if Brazil is mostly made up of Amethyst and agate...I see so much of it on rock boards , but justly so, I don't get tired of looking at it. Thanks for the post.

botroidal coral just awesome, each so pleasing to the eye. LOL Jean rockpickerforever! Never would have seen that one. Jamesp there has got to be a way to make pendants out of these, too pretty to be put in a jar or on a shelf, they need to be shown! could your spouse make lights out of them somehow and use them as bobs for a freaking cool nature chandelier? Can not feed my wife any limelight. No way, she will shadow me as usual. And then rub it in, unlike me. hmmm, OK then, you make one and out shine her! you know you want to....

wonderful cabs, my sympathies and good wishes on hearing of your son's troubles. Each of my 2 has totaled a car and walked away. I was just so grateful that they were not hurt! your outlet for stress is better/healthier than mine was. Keep those cabs coming. Lots of pretty, lots of interesting and different. Thanks for the post.

Woodman, that is a super nice PTF!! snowmom, in every single Hollywood production ever that has the sounds of frogs at night, this is the frog. The Japanese call them Hollywood frogs. Hollywood JamesP will need some of these if he is serious about being in the movies, then.
