Called the HP Texas # to reach the girl in China who is checking with the warehouse in MA to see if their strap is the same dimensions or close. Maybe start a HP renewal thread soon. This one will go a lot deeper, probably maybe even a PAINT JOB... Time to learn sand casting, it would be an easy part to learn on. I got one at home, but i think it is from an 18 or 24. I will verify after work.

These are suppose to be the best. Keep an eye on the used market, they show up.

Hahaha that's the well house but you're close. I guess one could sit on the pipe and accomplish quite a lot. Is that a Purple(Amethyst) and a Green(Malachite) rooms I see through the windows? Congrats. I like.

I texted with him about a month ago, he recently got his contractor's license. Sounds like he was doing well.

Really neat looking saw Rockoonz ! Very unique and interesting design and looks to be in pretty good condition. Looking forward to seeing you restore it and bring it back to life. When it hits the top of the que I will take pics and video for sure on this one, I think folks will like the direction I'm taking and the larger project it could lead to. I am anxious to see what direction you go, I have often about making mine fully automatic.

I just watched your video, it does seem a bit excessive. You can try turning the counter wait in, you may need to tune it to the weight of what your are lapping.

They will dance all around your garage. Lol. I have seen some people anchor them to the floor, I even seen one tied to a wall with wire. Good luck.

Cool!!! When you start playing with it, maybe you can detail all the hydraulic lines on it, mine is not setup that way. It appear to me that the oil recirculating pump was setup to supply the hydraulic dampener (feed rate control).
If you want, I can post some pic's of how the oil reservoir (tank) is setup on mine.

I did not try and cross reference, different brand. These are 4" in diameter and 5" tall with a 5/16 shaft. Tim

The motor that the was rebuilt(new bearings) for me by a friend has given it up. I bought it from Thumlers(over $100) and as with most new small motors these days, quality has dropped substantially. It was 3000 rpm, I found a couple of decently priced motors, however the rpm is 1650. Just wondering how much the lower rpm with reduce the effectiveness of the UV-18? The machine is only used for Polish. Hate to pay another $100 plus for a new motor that is only going to last 6 to 8 months due to the poor design(counter-weight on shaft). Thanks Henry Do you have a part# for the original motor? A while back I purchased a box full of small 3000 rpm motors at a large rock estate, the guys plans were to build vib tumblers and flat laps. Who knows, might be a match.

Try Diamond Pacific, if the have it, go through a vender like catmandewe , you will get a better price. It's the only piece they don't have. Just got back to me. Sounds like your best option is to fabricate one. I made one out of 1/4 plate for an old HP18 once, not too difficult. Good luck.
