I expect I'll get the lot into one 3LB barrel once the 80 has done the business. Yes - all is smooth and Im glad to be rolling again. Did the 3-in-1 oil on the nylon bearings, cleaned out the inner lids, screwed down the tumblers as they tend to walk - oh yes - all is smooth indeeeeeedy. Mark

I know we tumble rocks - and Ive now got 9lb on of 12lb of pet wood that Krazzzzy D sent me. Im glad to be rolling again - havent done it for a while.
But I have to say - that guitar of Ed's is also some serious craftmanship.
Nice Ed.
I want two - pls read Pms for my enquiry on the cost (as I aint rich or anything).
On another note, I was talking to my wifes brother yesterday in wales.
I said (chuffed to bits)
"I just recieved about 12lb of petrified wood from the US, great stuff - massive box through the post from a lady on the internet who is a member of the message board I set up."
(me Gleaming and Beaming!)
He says.
Why was it petrified? Scared of flying or something?
Some people just dont get it do they?
LOL.
Thanks KD - your tea is on its way.
Mark.

To be honest I dont know what they are, I'd guess at Quartz which has grown on the lava base - which in itself seems very brittle and porous (basalt?) - and yet the whole chunks themselves are heavy to hold.
I saw what I did with the photos - in paintshop it says at the top 1:3 - so I didnt have it at full size on the screen - it was shown at 3x size when I saved it - duh and the reduction was compression in terms of the jpg.
Yeah - not for the tumblers - I think if they went in there they would probably be mud within a week (I did that with some amber from a friend once!!)
They may end up on the fireplace for a while these.

KrazyD - those look really smooth. Really nice pieces. The Third pic down does it for me - as its 3D - looks like sponge or smoke in the crystal. Maybe even a Coral? Anyone remember "Coral" - polyps and all that fast diminishing stuff. Trashed by a starfish if I remember rightly - a horny looking thing Nice works KD Thanks for the pics.

"Years of family, friends, acquaintenances laughing and calling me the fool" You are kidding me? They arent friends or family. That setup looks the absolute business from where I'm sat - and MORE FOOL THEM. Cheers for the pics Doc. Mark.

www.oldtimecandy.com/necco-wafers.htmHeres a pic - looks like theres a pack of just the chocolate ones available. "Tumbled Combination of Necco Wafers with a Slight Deviant towards the Chocolate Type Due to Personal Preference." That needs a tin hat of proportions similar to Jodrell Bank antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap960308.htmlI reckon anyone going for a guess on this one needs to get down there right away for sharper readings into Johns mind. ;D

God Dam it Banjo - they look perfect. I reckon the time you spent is well worth it. They are priceless. A bit of a "Goth" look too in them - maybe its the trees in the reflection?, really nice Banjo - thanks for the experience. Your daughter is one lucky girl if she wears those. There are not that many fathers who have the ability and sheer skill to create such works. I'd definately stick those on your site. A great showpiece for sure. Black and Silver - what a great combination. Thanks again. Mark.

Phoenix - great collection - before you put them in the rock garden - give them some 80 maybe?? and see how they turn out. Ive got a birdbath in the back garden - i'll have to send a pic in to explain properly - but Ive put a load of tumbled stones in it beneath the water. Only thing is - I hope noone pinches them!!! Thats the thing about laying stones out in the garden. Makes the garden look too nice mark.

Alice2072, Those top stones (two of them) are superlative for me. Really nice samples and beautifully presented. I've a mate whos father lived in the middle east (he ended up in jail whiiped across his back as he made some beer) - but thats another story. Anyway, when he got out, he brought home some "Desert Rose" which was fossilised sand (the wind ........) I think thats what you may have there - not sure - its sanstone definately though and very very very very very nice Thats gorgeous Alice2072 - thanks for sharing those images with us. I'd keep that rock safe somewhere if I were you. mark

Sands - the pics are clickable - click on an image and it opens a new window with a larger version of the image you click on.
Depends though on whether youre running any pop-up stoppers or such.
