I tried logging in using Finch79 and finch79 with the password I had set up and it gives me an error message and if I try to sign in with my email address it says I have to enter my activation code which it does not sent to me. Sigh! And it won't let me reply to your answer without signing in, so I had to start a new thread. Unless you are stuck on the name 'Finch79a', I would just try to delete the profile and re-register, at this point. Maybe that's too simple.?

I like the experimentation Brian. Isn't it fun to grab the camera, whatever camera you have, and play? Just experimenting with different settings gives such different looks. I learned, when film and processing cost something, on an old school Canon A-1. I can't imagine what I would have tried if the opportunity existed then to capture as many images as you want, for free, and process (yourself) and print only what you want. I really like the look of the crazy lace shots you're putting out there. Keep on shooting and remember...it's free. I hope everyone get's a little loose with that shutter finger.

Is it normal for their username to be white, while everyone else's is in yellow?

Well shaped, super shine, even some self-collected material...I'd say you knocked it out of the park! Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your pics.

I imagine it takes a lot of practice to be able to spot artifacts like these. I wonder how many people have gone past something similar and not even known what they are looking at. I'm sure I'm guilty. I grew up on the Ohio River, where KY, WV and OH meet and the Shawnee Tribe was active. There are burial mounds in the city park and I imagine if I had been looking...I probably still wouldn't have anything.

jasoninsd she didn’t ask for a cute little snake? RickB what a beautiful snake. Must be warmish in your neck of the woods Ummm...no...she's the one who thinks a 6" garter snake is trying to kill her when she sees one! LOL Exactly! I (of course, photographed first) caught this guy and brought it into the house to show my wife how useful I am and did NOT get the reaction one would expect after such an act of bravery. Ok, maybe I knew what I was doing. It's just good, clean fun though.

Ouch! We had all the ice and snow, but kept power. I think a few similar storms over the last decade had us better prepared.
Glad you made it through in tact.

Unbelievable! I have never seen a bot with speckles before. That is drop dead gorgeous.
My 'Dexter' stone. If you don't know that reference, well, somebody will. I have been lucky enough to get my hands on some good rough material here in the middle of KY, where decent rocks are extremely rare. As everybody here knows, you just have to work all angles to find it!

Beautiful snake. I would not be able to walk away without catching and releasing. wpotterw - I'd be catching and releasing too...catching my breath and probably "releasing" the other end! LOL Well done!!! I would catch the darn thing, but my wife feels this sentiment exactly.

saxplayer - I just had to say THANK YOU for starting this thread! I don't have the capabilities to take macro shots like a lot of members are taking, but I can do a lot of drooling! Post and let's all learn together lol. I think Randy is the expert at photography here I am sure he can teach us. Expert? Nah. Self-taught and a lot of reps, yes. I'll always try to help, if I can. A natural eye for composition helps, but I may be able to help with technical questions. Maybe...

I looked at this a couple times on my phone, but wanted to circle back and take a look on the computer screen. It is as I saw it; that is one nice batch of tumbles. I would guess this will motivate them to continue, seeing as they seem to be naturals at it. I hope they do, I look forward to seeing more of their tumbles. Thanks for sharing!
