Looks like you found some of that mossy stuff at Last Chance.
Your Lavic material rocks!! That area has always been a good place to dig.
On a side note, I found out that I just didn't take us out far enough on that one road to find the correct turn off for the Christmas Tree Agate area......maybe next time.

I am really bummed I couldn't make this show this year. I heard Don Depue of Diamond Pacific finished a fire agate he got from me and it was outstanding. It was one I mined at our claim.

Thank you Paul.
The pink rhyolite can be softer sometimes. Or it can just have soft spots in it. This particular stone was pretty much the same all the way across.

It brings me great joy and humbles me at the same time....an odd mix of emotion, but one I am grateful to experience.

I cut this one today out of material from our Arizona claim I am pretty excited about this material. Cutting and finishing a stone from rough I have dug is so much more rewarding than buying windowed material. Don't get me wrong windows are good and much less hassle but when you cut a stone that you uncovered and were the first to see....well it just doesn't get much better than that! One of the frustrating things though is that when you start with totally rough material, is that you just never know what is underneath all the muck. Sometimes there is nothing, sometimes it is just a super thin layer of color that is very hard to exploit and other times....well....you get lucky and find something like this..... Thanks for looking, Christopher

Thank you every one.
No Cathy, I didn't do anything to this one. This material is soft but it takes a much better polish than the harder material in the vein. I was having to back it before but today I decided to try something different.....I used a lighter touch and it came out swell, no backing needed.

I cut this out of the material I recently mined. This is the softer material. I did not have to use a backing this time, I just used a softer touch
