I'm such a rookie that I'm still figuring out basic sawing and clamping. Even a failure is a lesson learned. I still got to play with rocks and mess with machines, so it's a win. I have trouble believing that you're a rookie, LOL . You appear to be crazy handy with the machinery and I've never tackled (and probably never will) sphere-making ... I'm super-impressed! If you want some rough to play with (keep some, send me back some), let me know. I'll gladly ship up some material's for you to play with in exchange for a sphere!

I started reading reviews of this handset. Very impressive: "The OnePlus 9 has a triple rear camera setup, though you’ll probably only realize that you’re using two of them. The 48MP main camera and 50MP ultra-wide camera are what you’ll use most, while the 2MP monochrome sensor helps with low-light photography, and with black-and-white photos if you set the correct filter...[the]improved color reproduction is evident in images taken with both rear cameras, the 48MP main and 50MP ultra-wide. The latter camera also packs an extra surprise: a specialty macro mode that captures up-close photos that are easily better than those shot on other phones with designated macro lenses, including the OnePlus 8T. It also comes with a freeforming lens, which OnePlus claims corrects barrel distortion – the warping at the sides of images from some ultra-wide cameras – down to 1%, and it appears to work, as we didn’t notice any distortion." www.techradar.com/reviews/oneplus-9-reviewWish my carrier supported this!

Looks good. Out of curiosity, what camera/phone are you using? The pics are clear.

I envy those who find this material in your backyard! That's awesome! Great pics, too. Keep them coming. I'll be curious to see what you do.

Hey, Sherri! Super glad to see you again! Sorry to hear about the RA ...
And speaking of changes/moves, my eldest, Andrew, starts college next year. Nathaniel heads off to high school. Haven't moved yet although I'm still looking! LOL

Not sure on your question, though. I've not tried that. I'm sure others will weigh in.

I love the interiors of that first batch of crater lakes! That must have been a fun one to cut open. The patterns in the garnet slabs are cool! It’s neat to see the crystal structure of the garnets affecting the surrounding patterns. Finally, those petrified wood slabs are beautiful! Nicely done! The garnet block was interesting but a really difficult polish. I ran it thru a couple of additional stages and that was as smooth as I could get the surface. I kept one slab to see if I could get a better surface. We'll see what happens.

Sorry, I had made a typo in my thread. Thanks for catching it. The crater agates are truly amazing and I wish I'd picked up more when I had the chance. The vendor had some beautiful condor agates as well. Those were fun to cut and I've got a few more on the vib lap now (seven years later, LOL).
The petrified wood is interesting in its own right with the wood grain showing up.

Your workshop looks immaculate. I'm jealous . Actually, right now, my wife is parking in the driveway while I do the same thing you're doing. Looking forward to seeing the saw in action. I, too, have a five gallon Home Depot bucket filled with used oil and rock left-overs. Maybe we can get another ProBoards auction running and see if there are takers.

Brian, here's your tracking information: 9505 5150 6990 1109 8977 11 9505 5150 6990 1109 8977 28 ETA 4/22 I was going to have them weight the boxes and forgot until I sat down to post this. The one with all the rough was really heavy. Enjoy! EDIT: While I was waiting in line, I noticed that the PO had restocked all of their flat rate boxes today. Must've heard a bunch of us were shipping rocks the other week and deliberately limited supply, LOL!
